New Life Restoration Ministries (NLRMI)

New Life Restoration Ministries (NLRMI) is a faith-based organization dedicated to transforming communities in Kibera Slums and other marginalized regions of Kenya.

The ministry’s vision is rooted in the teachings of the Gospel, particularly Luke 19:10, which calls us to reach out to the nations. We aim to restore lives and build thriving communities through spiritual nourishment and socio-economic development.

To reach out to unreached souls with the saving Gospel, especially in areas where it has not been preached, while addressing both the spiritual and social needs that promote personal and community well-being.
To evangelize the least evangelized by uniting ministers of the Gospel to go into cities and villages, preaching the Gospel and meeting the physical needs of the community.

The Various Organs Of The Ministry

Main Church Activities
At the core of New Life Restoration Ministries is its main church activities, which focus on the spiritual nourishment of the congregation. These activities include regular worship services, prayer meetings, Bible studies, evangelism, and discipleship programs. Through these efforts, the church aims to preach the Gospel, build up believers in their faith, and foster a strong sense of community. The ministry encourages spiritual growth and personal transformation, ensuring that individuals not only find salvation but also live out their faith in practical, everyday ways.
Kima Project
The Springs of Life Children’s Restoration Centre, a dedicated institution caring for orphaned and vulnerable children, is expanding its efforts to ensure long-term sustainability and better living conditions for the children. The Kima Project was conceived to relocate the orphanage from Kibera to Kima, providing a more stable and conducive environment for growth and development. Key Components 1. Orphanage Home Construction The new home will accommodate children currently living in Kibera. Modern facilities, including dormitories, classrooms, and recreational areas, will be built. A safe and secure environment that fosters emotional and educational growth. 2. Agricultural Initiative A sustainable farming project will be established to support the orphanage. Crops and livestock farming will provide food security and income generation. Training programs will be implemented to equip children with agricultural skills. 3. Water and Solar Energy Installation A borehole has been drilled to provide clean and reliable water. Plans are underway to install solar panels to power the water pump and other essential facilities. Piping and water distribution to agricultural sections and living quarters will be completed. 4. Educational and Vocational Training A school will be integrated within the project to offer quality education. Vocational training in agriculture, tailoring, and carpentry will be provided. Emphasis on equipping children with skills for future independence and self-reliance. 5. Infrastructure and Transportation Two school buses have been flagged off to facilitate transportation. Road networks within the facility will be improved for accessibility. Adequate housing for staff and caregivers will be constructed. Current Progress The land has been acquired and initial construction work has begun. Water drilling has been completed, awaiting piping and solar installation. Agricultural activities have commenced on a small scale. School buses have been procured to assist with logistics. Future Goals Complete the full construction of the orphanage and school. Scale up agricultural production for self-sufficiency. Enhance community involvement and create employment opportunities. Secure additional funding and partnerships to sustain long-term operations. Conclusion The Kima Project is a transformative initiative aimed at providing a secure, sustainable, and nurturing home for orphaned children. By combining education, agriculture, and vocational training, the project seeks to break the cycle of poverty and empower children for a brighter future. Ongoing support and collaboration are essential to making this vision a reality.
Springs of Life Children’s Centre
The Springs of Life Children’s Centre was established to provide care and support to vulnerable children, especially orphans and those affected by HIV/AIDS, as well as street children and other children in need of special protection. This center offers a safe and nurturing environment, where children can receive education, emotional support, and physical care. The center’s mission is to restore dignity to these children by providing them with the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty, and to prepare them for a hopeful and successful future.
Restoration Educational Centre
The Restoration Educational Centre was founded to address the lack of quality education in the Kibera slums and other underserved communities. This school provides affordable, high quality education to children, many of whom would otherwise have limited access to learning opportunities. The center not only focuses on academic excellence but also seeks to nurture character, instill values, and provide a holistic approach to education. The school aims to empower students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed academically and in life, fostering a generation of leaders who can positively impact their communities.
Cottage Industry
The Cottage Industry initiative was established as a means to promote sustainable economic growth within the community. By empowering women and youth, the ministry offers opportunities for income generation through the production of local crafts and products, such as candles, soap, and other handmade goods. This program not only provides financial independence to families but also equips individuals with entrepreneurial skills, helping them break free from poverty. Through this initiative, New Life Restoration Ministries fosters self- sufficiency and long-term economic development in marginalized areas.
Water Purification & SODIS
Access to clean water is a major challenge in many impoverished communities, particularly in the slums of Kibera. The Water Purification & SODIS (Solar Water Disinfection) project was implemented to address the critical need for clean, safe drinking water. Through this initiative, the ministry provides practical solutions to prevent waterborne diseases by offering water purification methods, including solar disinfection, to local households. This program is vital for improving health and well-being, as it helps reduce the incidence of waterborne diseases, which are common in overcrowded, resource-poor communities.
